The Top 48 Films From 1948 on the TSPDT Greatest Films List

This is a list of the 48 highest ranking films from 1948 on the 2025 edition of the TSPDT Greatest Films list. "Fallen Idol" comes in at #14 for the year and #1493 overall. It is the subject of the upcoming August 30, 2025 meeting of The Saturday Film Discussion Group. We are also discussing the short story on which the film was based - "The Basement Room" by Graham Greene. We are a monthly film discussion group that was formed in SW Ohio in 2018. It works like a book club. You watch the film on your own time. We then meet monthly to discuss the film. We switched our meetings to Zoom in 2020, and thus can now accept members from anywhere.
