This list, published by US News & World Report, was compiled by Kyle McCarthy, co-founder & editor at Family
Travel Tourism in May 2018. While many of the world's top tourist attraction lists are based on number of
visitors, this list honors local heritage and cultural landmarks at major destinations that have captured the
world's imagination and is intended to inspire trips that explore further afield.
The list is comprehensive but I think lacks some obvious choices such as the Grand Canyon & Machu Picchu.
