Thelma Alice Todd (b. 1906) was an American actress known by nicknames "The Ice Cream Blonde" and "Hot Toddy". Began her career in silents, most often in "sexy girl" roles, which provided her with little room to act. The advent of sound, and her signing by noted producer Hal Roach, allowed her career to blossom, mostly in comedies. She worked with some of the most famous comedians of the day, including Buster Keaton, Jimmy Durante, Wheeler and Wolsey, and most notably, Laurel and Hardy, and the Marx Brothers. Todd also starred in a series of comedy shorts with ZaSu Pitts.
Todd was also an astute businesswoman and restaurateur. She died of what was likely accidental carbon monoxide poisoning on Dec. 16, 1935.
