This is a comprehensive check-list of films released here in the United States or in the United Kingdom in the calendar year 2021. Hence there are many Oscar-winners from 2020 on this list too. I have NOT seen all of these films as of Feb. 18th, 2022. Some of the movies on this list will be art films, some will be studio blockbusters. My intention is to have a check-list for fellow movie fans to go by when trying to take stock of what films are out there. Many of these movies are on lists from publications as diverse as Film Comment, Paste, and Rolling Stone. These films are NOT in chronological order as to my personal preferences. Regardless if you live in New York, Paris, or Istanbul or even Eden, North Carolina, Floyd, Virginia, or Sarikaya (a small town near Yozgat in central Turkey), I hope you find this list helpful. (the last film on this is part-joke and part homage to my inner ten-year-old boy)
