Top 100 Most Popular Classics

These are not the classics you 'should' read, but the classics people actually read: the 100 most popular classic books of all time - based on number of ratings on Goodreads as of July 2022, sorted by publication date.
A book qualifies as a classic if it has been published over 50 years ago = before July 1972 (just my personal random assumption). It includes all genres except children's picture books - no other adjustments.
I'm at 21/100 and want to use this list as inspiration whenever I'm in the mood for a classic, maybe it inspires you to read more classics, too!
