Umbrellas' Favourite Film of Each Year (Past 100 Years)

Somewhat to my surprise it seems I've seen at least one film from every year in the last century, and all of the ones that appear on this list are at least in the top half of my overall rankings. The lowest ranked is Safety Last, but that's still a very decent film, so I can recommend everything here - I'd certainly be happy to watch any of them again. Though I think it's a pretty varied list overall there are some actors/directors that you can see are particularly dear to my heart - the Dietrich/von Sternberg collaborations, Peckinpah, Stillman. My overall favourite is Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, and that's in a year that also has Chinatown and The Godfather II amongst many others. Sometimes the picks aren't easy... UPDATE: Would you believe it, I managed to miss out a couple of films from the list. For the record, they should have been: Letter From an Unknown Woman (1948) and Lincoln (2012).
