This is a list of the 63 US National Parks and their alternate public land options. Many national parks have become crowded or require reservations, but there are often public lands that are available nearby or somewhere else in the country and they offer nearby or similar experiences. In some cases instead of a public land (state park, national forest, etc.), I have listed a place that has multiple options. Examples of this include the Island of Kauai or the Florida Keys.
