U.S. States That Drink the Most Alcohol

Drinking is as American as bad reality television --- and some states really get a lot of drinking done! To determine this we look at two factors: the percentage of the population that drinks excessively in that state and the number of gallons of alcohol consumed per capita in that state, per annum. The most-drinkingest state in 2021 is New Hampshire with an excessive drinking rate of 20.1%. Plus, the average New Hampshirite consumes 4.76 gallons of alcohol per annum.
