U.S. States With the Lowest Teen Pregnancy Rates (2021)

Overall, the teen pregnancy rate in the U.S. has been declining in the past 20 years. In 2018 the U.S. teen birth rate was 17.4 births per 1000 females between the age of 15 and 19. In 2019 it decreased to 16.9. Despite these lower rates, the U.S. continues to have the highest teen pregnancy rate of all developed nations. Here are the 15 states with the lowest teen birth rate...and the top honor goes to New Hampshire with the lowest rate of 6.6 births per 1000 teen women --- much lower than the state with the highest rate!
