Warm Up During the Winter Storm - Page 5

With this huge winter storm (Fern, according to the Weather Channel) coming across seemingly the majority of the continental United States, a lot of people are going to be cold. Down here in the Deep South, we're not used to getting that cold or getting ice or snow. I live with a Northerner and my parents have both lived up North, so I've heard tales of it. Here are some ideas for warming up if you're cold. Some of these require electricity, so might not be available if the storm knocks out your power. Eating and drinking warm or hot things (especially liquids) helps warm up your body from the inside, while clothing, fires, and heaters help warm up your body from the outside. DON'T go get these things if you don't have them, putting you in danger. If you need to drive, put chains on your tires and be VERY careful. Most people should not drive in this because people tend to oversell their own abilities behind the wheel in a storm.
