The boundaries of Central Europe is an issue that is hotly contested, but I personally consider any area that was under direct control from the German Empire or the Austro-Hungarian Empire. I mostly follow the borders set by the Standing Committee For Geographical Names with the Leibniz Institute in Leipzig minus areas such as South Tyrol or the Baltic States.
