The title says it all - this is a list of foods and there really isn't anything else quite like them. Each may be a food or dish in general for which there is no substitute, or a specific brand or source that definitely falls into the "often imitated, but never duplicated" category. They may be everyday items as simple as ketchup, or extravagances like caviar; a regional take on the humble hot dog, or an expensive gourmet treat like Iberico Ham. They may be foods that have a unique flavour or characteristic, like black truffle, or a common but much loved comfort food, like macaroni and cheese. They might be rather strange, like Kopi Luwak (if you don't know what it is, Google it), or as simple as potato chips. And, let's face it, there aren't many foods that could kill you if they're prepared incorrectly, like Fugu. They may seem like other foods, but have that "Je ne sais quoi" that sets them apart. And if you've had them, you know this to be true.
