100 Great Books by Scottish Authors

Scotland had produced some great writers over the centuries. Here are a hundred great books by Scottish authors - mainly novels with a sprinkling of short story collections and one "true", but slightly fictionalised, biographical, outlier. In our definition of Scots authors we include native born Scots, and a few long term residents of Scotland who may have been born elsewhere but subsequently made Scotland their home. You may be surprised that some of these literary gems originated in Scotland!
