It can be a notorious, controversial, memorable film for many different reasons. It can be referenced to this day or a shining example of a movie for its genre. Or it can have a passionate cult following and be iconic for a specific fan base. If you don't think the movie is iconic, Ask yourself: am I the audience for this? For example, maybe it is iconic to teen girls. Or Black women. Or body horror fans. Etc. Or maybe the movie is iconic for being so bad or such a bomb.
