Our maverick English Teacher and History buff looks at one of his great fascinations - WWII and the War In Europe - and comes up with 103 essential books. The literature of WWII is immense, and our compiler had a difficult time narrowing his list down, even with a target number of 100. He does not downplay or dismiss the war in the Pacific and those who served in it. Both his parents served in the ETO - His father was a Captain in the Signal Corps who served as an intelligence Officer for 1st Army, the 101st Airborne, and then 3rd Army; his mother was a 2nd Lieutenant/OR Nurse for the 2nd General Hospital. They met after the battle for Metz; had they not served in Europe, our compiler would never have been born.
