Greaterbooks.com: 1900 to Present

This challenge is the first of a series of four which highlight critically acclaimed books both historical and modern. It is derived from the latest version of "The Short List" at the "GreaterBooks.com" website. "The Short List" only features books that appear on at least 5 out of 47 source lists.
The books in each challenge are in descending order based on the number of source lists in which they appear. For example, books 72-107 are each on 5 source lists, while the top book ("Ulysses") is on 20 source lists.
The challenges will be published in reverse chronological order:
* 1900 to Present
* 1650 to 1900
* 700 to 1650
* Prehistory to 700 A.D.
