60+ Years Reading Science Fiction - Page 3

I discovered science fiction when I was 6. Sputnik had just been launched and Walt Disney did "Man in Space" on TV as part of "Disneyland".And there were comic books- "Mystery in Space" and "Tales of the Unexpected". The next year , the librarian in my elementary school gave me a copy of "The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet" to read. Then, on a visit to the local public library ( I had my own library card at 8), the children's librarian showed me a book called "Space Cadet" by some guy named Heinlein, saying I would like it and that, if I did, he had written more. I read the whole thing over a weekend, and I was hooked. I still am. Here are 135 books past and present that have sustained that addiction over the past 60+ years. Enjoy!
