These are the titles in Appendix 8 of The Overlook Film Encyclopedia: The Western, edited by Phil Hardy, The Overlook Press, 1983, 1991, 1995, which are deemed not important enough to have entries in the body of the encyclopedia (it is shorter than the later volumes, Science Fiction, Horror, and The Gangster Film, and includes no silent films, unlike Science Fiction or Horror). Titles are listed in alphabetical order based on the title Hardy treats as primary, which is not always the same as on List Challenges. In several cases, Hardy listed a film with different titles more that once, including some with entries. In such cases, it is placed where it first appears. Many of the films are Italian or German, and even then have several release titles. The Internet Movie Database was in its infancy at the time, so one can hardly blame him for not knowing that they were retitlings since it must have involved traveling to a lot of research libraries. Probably not revised after 1st ed.
