This is an exhaustive list of movies which the British Film Institute (BFI) published individual guidebooks for under its Film Classics & Modern Classics series, the latter of which was subsumed into the former. It can be considered a catalog of films which are considered aesthetically or stylistically important, spanning the silent film era to modern day. This is an aspirational list of films for any movie buff to view, one which provides a compelling mix of western and international features spanning several decades.
