Books That Deserve Better Movies

Adapting a novel into a feature film is tough. You gotta choose what to cut and what to include, change things so the plot doesn't drag, and still make it entertaining for hardcore fans and casual viewers. So I don't wanna be *too* harsh on these filmmakers for not getting it right the first time but... you know what? I'm still gonna be harsh. WHAT THE CRAP HOLLYWOOD?? How did you turn such a wonderful book into such a train wreck?!?!
