A selection of some plays from over two thousand years.I stopped at a hundred and eight,and cut back on including too many plays by some writers,as Shakespeare and Shaw for example could fill lists by.themselves. A great play as often as not can be made into a mediocre or lousy film, and that is why I insist that stating ' I saw the film version ' does not count.Saying 'I saw the play' is what qualifies.
