Conan the Barbarian, the character, starred in a little under two-dozen stories written by Robert E. Howard between 1932 and 1936.
In 2017, in France, these original Conan stories entered the public domain. French publisher Glénat began publishing a series of comic adaptations of these stories, drawn by some of France's most talented comic artist. The series was called "Conan le Cimmérien".
Most of these stories would later be re-translated back into English by Ablaze Comics, under the title "The Cimmerian" (they couldn't use the Conan name as he wasn't yet in the public domain in the USA).
