This list brings together all of Arthur Conan Doyle's works featuring Sherlock Holmes, arranged in order of publication. Debuting in 1887, Holmes quickly became the archetype of the brilliant detective, famous for his sharp powers of deduction, meticulous observation, and early use of forensic science. Alongside his companion Dr. Watson, he set the standard for modern detective fiction. Note: I've added "The Complete Sherlock Holmes" at the end, which collects the other nine books in one volume, because List Challenges requires a minimum of ten items.
