Disappointing Sequels (Or Prequels)

For this list I have put the first book and then the offending prequel or sequel(s). Sometimes it was just one of the books in a series (not necessarily the second book) that I was disappointed by, sometimes more than one. And in the case of The Giver books, I was disappointed by all the sequels.
