East and Southeast Asian Books Recommended to Bibliagirl

My reading theme for next year is fiction set in East and Southeast Asia or about people with those ethnicities living in other countries. Any genre is ok as long as it's not non-fiction. I am mostly excluding Korea because that was one of my themes this year. I posed a request in the Facebook group, Women Reading Great Books, since it has a huge membership and is a good place to start. I compiled a list of all their recommendations here.
I decided to pick a different part of the world each year and reading a lot of fiction set in or about that area. I want to learn about history and culture and social issues through fiction!
