A title can tell you as much about the contents of a book as the welcome mat tells you about the contents of a house. Think of Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury" and Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises." Would they still be considered literary classics if they'd been titled "Those Crazy Compsons" and "The Bagman," respectively? Probably. Still, admit it . . . you're more intrigued by "I Knew 3,000 Lunatics" than "Tea With My Aunt" or whatever. Here are some memorably titled books, some of which live up to their titles, some of which should have stopped there.
