Literature From the Americas - Page 6

How can a reading website, with over 30,000 submitted reading lists, have only a dozen or so devoted to Latin American literature? No region has had a greater influence on world literature since the 1960's. Aside from titans like Borges, Marquez, Llosa, and Bolano, most of the Anglo-Saxon world ignores Latin American literature. This is a literature of profound emotional richness, creativity, and diversity. The list here includes writers from the entire area south of the United States, including non-Spanish speaking countries. It also takes in emigrant writers, and writers who are the children of emigrants, from this region as well. This list only includes books that have been translated into English.
