Markd9528's Southern Spring Reads: In Praise of List Challenges - Page 2

These are books I have read during the Australian spring. I think they nicely demonstrate how frequenting this website (for 2 years in my case) can broaden your reading horizons. This was achieved both by publishing challenges myself and by using other people's challenges to guide my choice of books.
I find I am reading:
* More poetry & especially more drama
* More pre-19th century classic works
* More works written in English by authors outside England & USA
* More translated works, esp. from French, Spanish, Russian & Japanese originals
* More children's books
Favourites: The Alienist, David Copperfield, A Hero of Our Time, The Hour of the Star, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Krapp's Last Tape, Perfume, The Reader, Sentimental Bloke, Utopia, The Real Story of Ah Q
