February 2017: We are big readers in our house. I have a 12yo, an 8yo, & a just turned 5yo. The 5yo will start kindergarten in August, & he is not reading yet, though my other kids were by now. We read every day, mostly an ongoing chapter book to the whole family at bedtime, but there's a side table of picture books always on display for each holiday, books in his room, etc. But it's hard to find time to read Kid #3 a picture book. So I am taking the recommended "1,000 Books before Kindergarten" challenge, and trying to read him 1,000 picture books before he starts school!
