Part D: Haven't Read the Book or Seen the Movie Yet (A-K)

IMHO this is a good resource, when used in conjunction with IMDb, to catch up on your favourite classic books and/or the movies they inspired.
As in the preceding parts, any version of the movie is acceptable. Follow the link to Part C (and further back). A fair number of the movie icons actually refer to TV mini series or TV dramas.
Notes:
Please rate your enjoyment of this style of book/film challenge by clicking on the final icon if you think it is worth 8/10 or more.
The second "The Castle (1997)" movie icon is there to align subsequent icons. It also serves to shamelessly promote the classic Aussie film, which bears little relation to Kafka's novel.
Given that remakes of classic movies are (almost) as common as repeat book challenges on this website, I tend to favour the highest rated cinema release.
Films in development, according to IMDb:
The Fortress of Solitude
Henderson the Rain King
Herzog
In Search of Lost Time
