I've seen that May is short story month, so I thought I'd offer a list of single-author short story collections, with a sprinkling of anthologies, that have entertained and/or enlightened me. Most of these I've finished; some I'm still dipping into, enjoying without quite finishing. The list includes s.f., fantasy, horror, mystery, some more mainstream fiction and some less easily defined fiction.
