Scott Andrew Hutchins: The 100 Best Horror Films I've Seen

I find top ten lists too confining, especially if we are talking about the 130-year history of film. I made this from IMDb, films I had rated 9s and 10s categorized by them as horror. The number of films I gave 10 was well below 100, but those I gave 9 put the list well over that mark, and of those I tended to promote lesser-known films. All the 10s got on there except a few I didn't really think qualify (such as Gojira--he's not deliberately killing people). I was never a fan of the teen slasher subgenre and don't get what people see in Halloween, which is supposdely the best. Nosferatu didn't make it on simply because I think F.W. Murnau made better films. I realize few agree with me about Exorcist II and Blair Witch 2. I recently watched Tod Browning's Dracula with Philip Glass's score, and it worked for me much better than previous viewings without it, but I still didn't include it. The films are listed in chronological order regardless of whether I gave them a 9 or 10 rating.
