The English Teacher's Top Christmas Books!

Our maverick English Teacher and recovering grinch looks at the popular literature focusing on Christmas and comes up with 50 fascinating reads that in some way, shape, or form touch upon the holiday. As a rule,our compiler has tried to avoid the story of Jesus (Anthony Burgess's original and beautifully written "Man of Nazareth " is the sole exception) , feeling that a distinct, different list is required to do justice to that particular subject. He also made a conscious effort to limit the inclusion of examples of the burgeoning sub-genre "Christmas Romances" to those he felt were of high literary merit. The list includes fiction, drama, and history. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good read!
