Umbrellas' Top 150 Films of the 1970s

Here are my favourite films of the 1970s, ranked in order of how much I like them (most liked first). For me the 1970s was the best ever decade for cinema: the first 30 films from this decade would all go in my top 100 of all time, and all 150 films listed here are highly recommended. As the rank order indicates I'm especially partial to Sam Peckinpah, but other favourites like Kubrick, Coppola and Pakula also feature prominently. If you haven't yet watched many seventies films, it's high time you treated yourself!
