Westerns Branded the 'Best Since Unforgiven'

When it comes to more recently made western genre movies, film critic's favourite line seems to be to declare them the 'best since Unforgiven'. This is a common line to see written on DVD packaging too. I've collected some where I have the DVD and this line is featured and also taken some from articles found online on this subject, sources being BFI, Cinema Blend, The Film Box and Cinematical.
