This is a list of birds found in North America north of Mexico, either as regular nesting species or as strays from elsewhere, that are named after specific places (not including "America" itself). These places are varied and can include other countries (Canada, Mexico), US states (California, Florida), and geographical features (Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Chihuahuan Desert). Although not exactly named after specific locations, I've also included "tropical" and "boreal" birds in this list. Most of these birds are native, some only occurring as rare strays to border regions, but others are introductions from elsewhere - naturally, that will be reflected in their names.
