These are strictly the opinions of a 49 year-old with a master's degree in cinema/media studies and not based on anyone else's. Films are listed in chronological order (the previous list I made was in alphabetical order).. Film ratings list at https://scottandrewhutchins.wordpress.com/film-ratings/ Criteria include originality as well as skillfulness in directing, writing, cinematography, editing, composition, and acting. These are all the films I've seen that I thought were worthy of a 10/10 rating. Many films considered classics I gave only an 8 or 9 , or I didn't see what was so great about them to begin with. I have seen fewer contemporary films, largely because of my dire economic and living situation in the 2010s. This list is not necessarily my favorite films to watch, although there is significant overlap. I hope this list inspires people to seek them out.
