National Book Award for Fiction Longlist 2022

I'm usually deeper into this list by this time of year, guess I'm not as au courant with 2022 literary fiction as I thought. All that said, I'm disappointed at some omissions, I would have guessed Hernan Diaz's "Trust" was a natural, and the best and most relevant novel I've read all year, "Mercy Street" by Jennifer Haigh, has been snubbed as well. Maybe something on this list is better than those two, but I've already read two books that aren't. We'll see.
