National Book Award Longlist 2020

So far this year I've read "A Burning," "Shuggie Bain," "The Vanishing Half" and "A Children's Bible." All were pretty good, but the National Book Foundation, zany folks that they are, always include one practical joke on the longlist, e.g. "The Boatbuilder" in 2018 or "Barren Island" in 2017. So since I always finish the longlist, I can look forward to a literary whoopee cushion some time in the next month.
