New Birds John Saw in 2016-2017

A list of birds that I added to my life list in the years 2016-2017. Most of these were seen either in and around Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, where I worked the past two summers, or on a winter trip to Arizona in between; the rest were generally rarities that showed up in my home state of California. The Wild Turkey's inclusion on this list deserves further explanation: technically I'd seen Wild Turkeys before in California, but they're not considered "native" there as they are in Colorado, which is why I only added them to my life list after seeing them in the Rockies.
