Schlocko's Favorite Stupid Lyrics!

The wit of Cole Porter, the eloquence of Stephen Sondheim, the playfulness of Chuck Berry, the righteousness of Bob Dylan. The songs listed here have none of those qualities, but they do feature some darn funny lyrics, whether intentional (Johnny Rotten screaming "WE MEAN IT, MAN!") or unintentional (see the collected works of Duran Duran ). Some are bathetic ("End of the World"), some are maudlin ("Leader of the Pack"), all feature at least one line that will make you scream "did I really just HEAR that?" as I did when the rhyming couplet that opens Bon Jovi's deathless "You Give Love a Bad Name" first tickled my ears. As Sham 69 once sang, "Life was made to grab and enjoy, so let's all grab and let's all enjoy!"
