Girl's Guide to Good Movies: 1950

This series is based on A Girl's Guide to Good Movies (https://www.listchallenges.com/girls-guide-to-good-movies). I picked 40 movies per year that portray women in an interesting light. In some years women are just props without thought or motivation (the 1970's were especially unkind). Luckily, there's always the heyday of Hollywood when the biggest box office stars were female. Betty Hutton, Hedy Lamarr, Esther Williams, Lana Turner, Elizabeth Taylor and Betty Grable... thank you for existing in all your complex glory.
