New Birds John Saw in 2003 - Page 2

2003 was the year I started "officially" keeping track of my life list of birds. As one would expect, almost all birds from my first year are common Southern California species, which I would see at my house, on my middle or high school campus, or on walks with my local Audubon Society. A mid-summer trip to Alabama to visit my relatives added a few eastern birds to the mix (Common Grackle, Eastern Bluebird, Northern Cardinal). Even though the list is in chronological order, the most common birds are at the end because they're SO common that I didn't bother giving them an official dated sighting until I realized doing so would probably be a good idea.
