The English Teacher Presents Great Book Series and Multi-Volume Story Arcs - Page 2

Our maverick English Teacher and popularity fiction enthusiast provides a list of 125 novels that comprise some of the best multivolume story arcs available. Our compiler differentiates these from the more common "series novels", which usually involve recurring characters in what are essentially a series of Stand-alone novels that inhabit the same fictional universe. Here we have an ongoing narrative that can span several volumes and can freely introduce and remove major characters, places, and story elements as the narrative unfolds. Our compiler limited the list to 125 to keep it manageable, and does not intend this to be a definitive "best of" list. He has chosen to exclude most YA multi-volume series, feeling they should have a list of their own. He included The Harry Potter series because it has transcended market categorization, and chose Susan Pfeffer's "Last Survivors" tetralogy to represent what YA fiction is capable ofIn this area of fiction writing.
