Umbrellas' Favourite Comedies - Page 2

Mainly for my own interest I wanted to see what films would count as my 'top 50 comedies'. I did this by looking at my overall 'top films' list and then seeing which of those are comedies (when in doubt I used IMDb's genre classifications as a check). My first conclusion is that I'm not hugely into comedies relative to other genres - I had to go down to nearly 400 on my overall list to find 50 comedies. The other thing is that these aren't necessarily "the films I thought were the funniest", they're "the films I like best that are comedies". A lot of them are comedies and other things too (romances, musicals, etc) and it might be for the 'other things' as much as the comedy that I rate them. The rank order would certainly change if it was based purely on hilarity level (they're listed here by how much I like them, favourite first, and 'The Producers' for instance would be much higher if it were 'funniest first').
