The Bibliophile's Best Books of Each Genre: Erotica

This list, maybe the 15th or so in my series of best books of each genre, covers the best works of erotica. As I hope the list conveys, the 'erotica' genre this list explores and provides the best examples of is not that genre of steamy romance paperbacks (although I made an exception for Fifty Shades of Grey given its popularity), although I recognise there is rightly a market for that (although it's not for me). Rather, this list is intended to provide the best examples of quality pieces of literature that explore sexuality and erotic themes in an emotionally intellectual and honest manner, using exceptional writing skills to convey emotions such as lust, gratification, shame, desire and other complex emotions that people experience in the realm of sex.
